Kate Shively is third year PhD Student at Indiana University’s School of Education majoring in Curriculum Studies and minoring in Learning Sciences. She is a Graduate Assistant at Indiana University Creativity Labs. Current work involves e-textiles, creativity, and learning in informal, interest-driven environments. Her interests and research pursuits include e-textiles, video games – specifically Minecraft – and digital design platforms, such as Scratch from MIT (www.scratch.mit.edu). Her current research focuses on how young children learn when actively engaged in informal, interest-driven learning environments.
